Apache Axis
Apache Axis is an open‑source Java implementation of a SOAP web service framework providing WSDL parsing, SOAP processing and a flexible handler stack. It supports generation and consumption of SOAP endpoints and integration with multiple transport layers. Axis saw broad historical adoption but is often superseded in new projects by modern alternatives such as Apache CXF or dedicated REST frameworks.
