Scope: Examination of dynamic processes, emergence and feedback mechanisms as well as stability and change in technical and organizational systems. Included are conceptual models, structural principles, relevant metrics and classification criteria for such phenomena. Excluded are implementation guides, concrete tools or detailed project plans.
Adaptation is the architectural principle of adjusting systems at runtime to changed conditions to maintain availability and performance.
Stability denotes a system's ability to deliver expected behavior over time and remain available under load or faulty conditions.
