SonarQube provides continuous monitoring of code quality and supports various programming languages to identify and reduce technical debt.
Use this profile to understand the building block briefly, place it in the model, and open related building blocks.
Usable application software: supports people in a task.
Concrete cog in the system that works inside larger relationships.
SonarQube is a platform for static source-code analysis and continuous monitoring of code quality and security risks.
SonarSource developed SonarQube from 2007 in response to the need to make code quality visible automatically and continuously. The open-source project, first called Sonar, later grew into SonarQube with additional commercial offerings.
A scanner examines source code during a build and sends measures to the SonarQube server. Rules identify bugs, vulnerabilities, and maintainability issues; quality gates combine results into a release decision.
Source code is checked without executing it.
Rules define which findings a project examines.
A threshold decides whether a result meets quality requirements.
SonarQube exposes quality and security problems early and embeds them in development and delivery processes.
