Memcached

Memcached is a lightweight, distributed in-memory caching system for accelerating data-intensive applications. It stores key-value pairs in RAM to reduce latency and backend load. Memcached scales horizontally via sharding and is easily integrated into existing architectures, but it provides no persistence and limited consistency guarantees.
